Fishing in Ireland

We offer excellent deep sea fishing off Ireland’s Western Coastline, operating out of Liscannor, Co. Clare. We do full day trips for both groups and individuals. The vessel may be chartered for those who wish to have it exclusively for their own use. We also do evening trips from 7p.m. till dusk, depending on demand. The day trip runs from 9a.m. to 6p.m. with a break for lunch in Inis Oirr.

The waters around the Aran Islands are especially good haunts for many sea fish species. These Islands are extremely picturesque and the inhabitants have chosen to retain the old Irish way of life. Willie O’Callaghan offers his sea angling guests an opportunity to go ashore for a visit or an overnight stay if they so wish.

The waters at the foot of the sheer Cliffs of Moher which rise over 200 meters from the Atlantic Floor, are another popular area. All the coastline provides wonderful vistas from the sea. Regular catches include above average size blue shark, white pollock, ling, ray, tope and coley. Willie practices a policy of tagging and release. The sea fishing catchment area ranges from North Kerry in the south to Galway Bay to the north. His boat is licensed and fully equipped with the most modern electronics for safety, navigation and fish detection.

O Callaghan Angling is a family run business offering excellent deep sea fishing off Ireland’s Western coastline, operating out of Liscannor, Co. Clare. Willie’s fishing area ranges from Kerry to the Cliffs of Moher to the Connemara coastline and the Aran Islands..

The vessel “True Light” is a newly built 42 ft. “Interceptor” passenger vessel which was built in 2002 and is fully licensed by the Department of the Marine. It is built to Lloyds AI specification to the highest safety and technical standards possible. It is powered by two 300 H.P.. Caterpillar Diesels and has a speed in excess of 20 knots. It carries a full package of navigational, fish detection, communication and safety equipment on board. The vessel and its equipment are surveyed , tested and certified annually by The Department of Marine Surveyors.

We cater for Anglers, Cruisers, Divers, Surf Riders, Photographers, Ornithologists, Dolphin and Whale -Watchers, just to mention a few. We supply rods, reels and bait.

William O’Callaghan commenced his sea going career as a Radio Officer in the Merchant Navy in the early sixties. His intense love of the sea and his deep interest in everything nautical has acted as a catalyst out of which he has acquired his present expertise and knowledge of angling and the waters on the Western Shores of Ireland. All the family contributes, in no small way to the running of the business.
